“She thinks you’re the perfect angel not knowing most of the shit I got in was your idea,” Keshawn poked knowing damn well that was a lie.

“I'm not the one that got yo' ass locked up. It was your idea to rob that corner store.”

“We would’ve gotten away with it, if yo’ ass was a better look out.”

“How the fuck was I supposed to look out with bullets flying at my head?”

“I guess you have a point. Damn this bitch is clean,” Keshawn whistled, running his hand across the woodgrain on the dash.

“Preciate that brother.”

“Where we going anyway?”

“Doing a little shopping, you home now. I can’t have you out here dressing like it’s still 2013.”

“Nigga’s sign a few deals and think they know everything. What are you a model now?”

“Only when the check clears,” I chuckled, pulling out.

Driving downtown, we reminisced about our childhood all the shit we got into making for an entertaining ride. I was back in my element but the moment we stepped out of the car I remembered how different life was now. There were people coming up to me left and right asking for pictures and autographs.

“Sorry about that shit,” I acknowledged noticing the bizarre look on Keshawn’s face every time somebody came up to me.

“I keep forgetting you’re a superstar now. I know that shit gets you hella pussy.”

“I’m chilling man.”

“I appreciate it Ro, you didn’t have to do all this.”

“It’s cool, you already know. If I got it, you got it.”

Turning the corner, I almost walked straight into Malena. She was more focused on her phone than where she was going but her connection to Charli saved her.

“You really need to pay attention to where you’re going.”

“Or maybe you just wanted to walk into me,” Malena sassed perching her hands on her hips.

“Not even, wassup Malena.”

“Hey Janero.”

“Where’s your girl?”

“Paying for her stuff. How are you?”

“Good, this is my homeboy Keshawn.”

“Nice to meet you,” she waved wiggling her fingers with a smile.

“I need you to talk to your girl,” I chuckled at the way I threw myself out there. Again, that wasn’t my style but Charli Belle had me doing a lot of shit I didn’t normally do.

“That goes against the code. When she’s done with you, so am I,” Malena began shaking her head before I could even get the sentence out.

“Charli’s scared, she’s not done. It’s a difference and you know that.”

“That’s not what she told me. She also told you the same.”

“You know Charli. If you really think she’s done, I’ll respect it. If not, help a brother out,” I insisted flashing her the million-dollar smile that usually got me what I wanted.

“And why should I do that? So you can go on another vacation with a woman moments after sliding out of her?” Malena asked, not holding back. Normally I would’ve been irritated by the third degree but I was happy Charli had somebody else to look out for her.

“I’m trying to take her on a vacation but she’s bullshitting.”

“Are you always like this?”

“Persistent? Yea, when it’s something I want.
